Autumn Staging: Make Your Leaf Pile Look Expensive

Autumn is a golden opportunity to dress your garden for sale. Leaf piles, correctly arranged, give the impression of rustic abundance. Aim for a pile roughly the size of two loaves, topped with an acorn, and flanked by a single, theatrical stick.

Avoid piles that look recently sat in. A flattened pile suggests neglect, or an overweight neighbour. Fluff it each morning with a firm paw and be prepared to wrestle off a squirrel. Squirrels will try to buy it. Do not sell to squirrels. They never pay and they mark the shed. A good leaf pile can add up to 8 treats a month, though 5 is more honest.
